Malta-flagged vessel leaves Primorsk for New York with 50,000 tonnes of oil

The Malta-flagged vessel Agioi Fanendes (IMO: 9798375) has departed from Primorsk and is on its way to New York delivering up to 50,000 tonnes of oil as part of President Donald Trump’s deal with Vladimir Putin over a 500,000 tonnes diesel purchase.

The vessel is currently managed by the Greek company

Eastern Mediterranean Maritime (Greek interests) and is registered as owned by Maltatankers Shipping Ltd owned by the Martinos brothers.

The deal has been criticised by EU and European leaders including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
