More on the topic of Joseph Muscat’s insane delusions. Muscat is sincerely convinced that people will believe his lies, or at least, they’re good enough to stick, irrespective of how outlandish and stupid they may sound.
One of the most stupid lies that I could pick up at his Public Accounts Committee hearing is that the government sought to enter into energy deals with Socar because Muscat was advised to do business with Azerbaijan by Joe Debono Grech. According to Muscat, the story goes that Joe Debono Grech, being an old-time socialist who remembers Mintoff striking deals with China in the 1970s, advised Muscat to do the same with Azerbaijan.
So, Joe Debono Grech is the reason that eventually, Socar joined a consortium with Siemens and Gem Holdings (the Maltese shareholders including Tumas Group, Gasan, and Apap Bologna) to build a power station that bought gas from Socar itself at premium prices.
