I would suppose that by now, many of you would have gotten accustomed to Robert Abela’s way of doing politics. To put it in simple words, Robert Abela is playing Joseph Muscat’s playbook because he doesn’t know of any other way to do politics. For him, it’s just a game. His father, George who is his main consultant (hilarious), is as oblivious as his own son.
Like Joseph Muscat, Robert Abela is confident in magisterial inquiries because these kinds of inquiries allow the perpetrators to hide and distort evidence contrary to police investigations that would result in the immediate arrest of the suspects whilst seeking to conserve evidence. This is why Robert Abela is so confident in a magisterial inquiry and feels comfortable enough in seeing it go through – he thinks and bets that the magisterial inquiry won’t come back to address government wrongdoing, neither will it address his and the Labour Party’s contacts with the main suspects.
As for the public inquiry, it is obvious why he doesn’t want it to go through. Robert Abela will do his best to ensure that the government and the criminal links of the Labour Party are covered up, even by proposing alternative and fake inquiries to the public inquiry.
Robert Abela, is not to be trusted. He lacks good will and will act only and exclusively in his own best interest and there is nothing that is going to change this. He will only get worse.
