Breaking: Hamas invades Israel and starts a war

Rockets have been fired into Israel from Gaza and a group of men from Gaza have infiltrated Israel and are shooting at unarmed civilians in the streets. Small arms and rocket fire have been reported across the Gaza border.

A war between Israel and Hamas seems to have started again and Hamas seems to be backed by Iran. Also, you can read my brief Twitter article below:

Update 08/10/2023. 00:06. Palestinian journalist and activist Issa Amro based in Hebron claims the IDF detained him and beat him up, and released him soon after, as part of ongoing IDF operations rounding up Palestinian suspects.

Update 23:53. Hamas spokesperson Ghazi Hamad says that Hamas is being supported by Iran and other countries.

Update 23:03. The dead woman being paraded earlier this morning by Hamas on a truck is a German national called Shani Louk who was visiting a music festival as a tourist.

Update 22:40. IDF reclaims control of most Israeli border towns and cities.

Update 22:08. A long line of Israeli tanks has been seen being transported in Southern Israel, indicating Israel may soon invade Gaza.

Update 20:50. US President Joe Biden makes a speech reiterating unwavering support and backing for Israel. Biden took no questions.

Update 20:00. The UN peacekeeping force in Southern Lebanon has withdrawn to their main base and will avoid any conflict.

Update 19:40. Israel has cut off the electricity supply to Gaza.

Update 15:09. Unconfirmed reports that Hezbollah is prepared to invade Israel from the North if Israel invades Gaza.

Update 15:05. Israel Defence Minister Yoav Gallant claims that “Iran declared war on us” and promises a strong response.

Update 14:48. Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Qatar all issue statements blaming Israel for Hamas’ attacks citing repeated provocations and violence against Palestinians.

Update 13:50. Rahim Safavi, previous Islamic Revolutionary Guard Commander and defense advisor to Supreme Leader Khamenei, congratulated Hamas on their attacks and declared Iran’s support to the “Palestinian Mujahideen until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem”.

Update 13:34. Hamas fighters are fighting the IDF for control of Ofakim.

Update 13:33. Gaza is being pounded by airstrikes.

Update 13:30. Hamas controls most Israeli settlements near the Gaza Strip including Sderot and the IDF is fighting to retake them.

Update, 13,02: Russian military channels on Telegram circulating videos and images in support of Hamas.

Update, 12:50: Up to 60 Israelis have been kidnapped by Hamas and taken back to Gaza. One of the hostages includes IDF Gaza Division Commander Nimrod Aloni. Hamas is circulating videos and images of its hostages online. Drones by Hamas were also used to fire at Israeli tanks.
