Antisemitism runs deep in the left

This is a Facebook post by Andre Callus, spokesperson for Moviment Graffitti, basically describing the attacks by Hamas as an act of resistance. This form of twisted and warped logic that is used for the justification of the murder and rape of civilians is only used against Jewish people. You don’t see many people justifying the excessive use of force by the Israelis, but you do get a lot of people justifying the deaths of innocent Israelis. This antisemitic logic says that every Jew can be a legitimate target in Israel or Palestine because that’s not their land. This is also the same logic shared by Adrian Grima: Israel doesn’t have the right to exist and Israelis are legitimate targets because that is not their land.

To many of these left-wingers, it is also a psychopathic game of numbers, such as the logic that since the Israelis kill more Palestinians than the Palestinians kill Israelis, more Israelis deserve to die. History doesn’t necessarily show that a death count is a marker of which side you are on.

Andre Callu’s post was also liked by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts Dominic Fenech. Antisemitism is normalised at the University of Malta just as it is on the left. And mainly these people don’t necessarily know what they are talking about: they simply hate Jews.

Ah yes, the real Iron Dome of Israel; calling anyone who criticizes them Anti-Semetic.

Mark, the modern easy way to shut down an argument is calling someone a racist or anti-semitic. Can you give us your opinion as to what Palestinians should have done then, in order not to remain living their life imprisoned in their own land?

How would you react if the British conquered Malta again, pushed and squeezed all the Maltese up in Mellieha, gave the rest of the land to the Israelis, who then build a wall around Mellieha and lock all the Maltese in there, while they roam around the country freely? I guess you wouldn’t be too happy.

If my history memory serves me well, most of the Middle East was occupied since the dawn of time by nomadic tribes, all ancestors of both Jews and others that would eventually embrace Islam. Thus I believe that none can really claim this part of the world their own. It’s about time they decide to live peacefully together respecting each other unconditionally. This conflict has been going on for far too long.

And you all have your answers.

    1. Mark, you make it obvious that you are biased against the Palestinians and Arabs yet you are vain enough to criticize others for siding with the oppressed, downtrodden Palestinian people. This is not simply a matter of whether one supports leftist or right ideologies but rather about ones belief in justice, equality and freedom for all. Come on do you really believe that Israel’s Mossad supported by the CIA were not aware of what Hamas were plotting and preparing to do under their very noses! Israel needed an excuse to divert the attention from its internal political shenanigans and turmoil. They knew beforehand what Hamas were up too but they opted to sacrifice their own people so that they could have an excuse to wage a one sided war against the Palestinians, massacre innocent civilians, destroy Gaza?s weak infrastructure and to muster sympaty and support from the usual Jewish arse licking quarters.
What a joke. What a pompous imperialistic statement. Israel with all its? military might and technological know how goes to war against the Palestinians in Gaza. War against a few hundred poorly armed and equipped insurgents. War against innocent civilians and their homes just out of spite and as reprisals against the Hamas?s incursions. Incursions which they could have pre-empted and avoided in the first place.
If the Israelis with their superior intelligence services and highly sophisticated military might really want to punish the Hamas, they could can out precision surgical strikes in gaza and not carry out carpet bombing campaigns killing innocent Palestinian civilians and destroying civilian homes and infrastructure.

      1. Come on, That’s your frivolous opinion based on your baseless assumptions.

  6. It’s amazing how much, acts which would never normally get justified, are being justified because it’s the Jews on the receiving end. Disgusting to say the least. This is what antisemitism is. Hitler would be proud. I’m on the brink of unfriending a few people these past couple of days.

Thank you for your principled stand.
Its really bringing the Jew-haters out of the woodwork. Truly, people hate it when one holds a mirror up to them.
The rabid antisemitism to be found on the extreme left has been clear for years to all except those deep within that circle of group think.
