Alex Agius Salib agrees that the government should increase the minimum wage

After concluding my discussion with Alex Agius Saliba over his complaint to the EU Commission, I’ve asked him an important question.

If Alex thinks that food importers shouldn’t be raising their prices excessively in order not to hurt ordinary consumers, shouldn’t the government ensure to significantly raise the minimum wage right away to address living income concerns?

Alex Agius Saliba replied in the affirmative and he does agree with a significant raise in the minimum wage and he also agrees with stamping out precarious employment.

I’m sure that Robert Abela is going to be elated to hear that Alex Saliba broke the rules and spoke to a journalist, not to mention his position on the minimum wage which is contrary to the Labour Party’s position.

Expect a little tantrum today by Prince Bob as he wakes up later on this morning.

    Looks like AGS is going to go down fighting. For sure he is not on Labour’s list of favoured MEP candidates otherwise he would not be risking the ire of members of the business cabal that have infiltrated and taken over both the Labour party and the Government. He is right of course but coming out like this against the heavy weights that run Malta he has signed an end to his political career in Europe. Perhaps he will make a good candidate for the 3rd political force that is brewing in the background. Rather than boasting of his so called socialist beliefs and values RA should ensure that the likes of Alf Mizzi & Sons do not exploit the international situation to thier own benefit by inflating prices beyond their operational costs. Same goes for the importers of pharmaceuticals.
