The US responds to Iran with airstrikes in Eastern Syria

I suspect that talk about a widespread war in the Middle East will quickly fizzle out as the US reminds its enemies who is it that has the firepower to win an all-out war.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has released a statement saying that the US has carried out airstrikes in Eastern Syria against Iranian targets in retaliation to attempted attacks against its forces in the region. Unconfirmed reports state that a large number of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials have been killed in the attacks.
