The Ukraine Peace Formula summit held in Malta over the weekend has been concluded as expected without any surprises given that the discussion of the summit is based on the outcome of Ukraine’s victory over Russia – in fact, China did not attend. What’s most important and relevant to Malta is that by having hosted the summit, Malta is increasingly consolidating its position on international platforms of foreign affairs. It is rather difficult to pronounce and discuss our positions and interests internationally given our problem with reputation and Malta’s crisis of rule of law, but changes made to our foreign policy have drastically improved our situation.
In addition, our increased engagement in these events also gives us more opportunity to build our alliance with the US over security matters. Malta is in full agreement with Ukraine’s demands and aims for its victory in the war, and holding these events and other meetings, helps us by increasing our trust with our allies.
