Ehud Olmert wants negotiations with the Palestinian Authority and a withdrawal from Gaza following Hamas’ defeat

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is still very widely representative of Israel’s moderate and progressive views over Palestine. Olmert blames Benjamin Netanyahu for Israel’s conflicting predicament with the Palestinians and calls for a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza following the defeat of Hamas. He is also in favour of restarting peace talks with the Palestinian Authority. You can see his latest interview on Sky News here.

Ehud Olmert was Prime Minister of Israel when he oversaw Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza and its eventual handover to the Palestinian Authority (Hamas took control of Gaza soon after).
