Protecting money-launderers under the direct guidance of the Prime Minister himself

The law restricting the power of the authorities to freeze the assets of suspected money launderers has been prompted by the Prime Minister himself and has been drawn up by the Ministry of Justice without the advice of the Attorney General and the Ministry of Finances. It’s exclusively the affair of Robert Abela which is being carried forward by his corrupt and ingratiating servant Jonathan Attard.

There are, of course, members of the cabinet who are against the law and are also worried that the law will impact Malta’s progress with the FATF. Some Labour MPs are against the law but have yet to express themselves, while the executive committee of the Labour Party was not informed in advance either which should have been a priority given that this law was not part of the Labur Party’s electoral manifesto.
