As everyone does at the end of the year, I’m listing the most read ten articles on this website for this year.
This website has established itself as a news and investigative journalistic outlet with a particular focus on financial crime and the criminal organisation behind the Labour Party in Malta. Anyone can have the right to their own opinion, and some press outlets like MaltaToday have tried to diminish the importance and value of the work of this website. They have all the right to do so. It is a fact, however, that the impact and investigations of this website have been extensive to the extent that they have caused and/or contributed to the resignation of a government MP from the government parliamentary group, the resignation of the chief risk officer of Malta’s biggest bank, the suspension of the deputy police chief, and as of recently, the demotion of the Magistrate from the financial crimes court – all in one year.
Our resources are limited but our investigations are effective and we will keep working to produce even more of them. Above all, we will strive to keep positioning ourselves as effective providers of information and stories that are in the Maltese public interest as we unravel secrets that are tightly guarded. We also thank and support all editors and journalists of good faith especially those at The Shift, The Malta Independent, Newsbook, and Times of Malta, and others like Julian Delia and Manuel Delia who have similar aims as ours.
Admittedly, it is very difficult to build something like this from scratch, and I am sure that I am making many mistakes on the way. I always appreciate your feedback and your financial and material support which we depend on. Our book stock is always growing thanks to our regular readers and ever-growing client base and you can check our book selection in our online bookshop.
It is our pleasure to do this, and we hope that you, our readers and clients, will keep giving us the honour and opportunity to keep doing it.
