The investigation on Karl Muscat’s death should be reopened

From everything that we have learned so far with the ongoing case of Keith Schembri’s missing mobile phone, what’s mostly clear is that the court expert, Keith Cutajar lied under oath about multiple things, and he is incredibly incompetent.

I’m not questioning his intentions, and he may mean well, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions and Keith Cutajar couldn’t say no to a Magistrate when he was fully aware and conscious of the fact that what the Magistrate asked from him was wrong.

Keith Cutajar also concluded swiftly that there was no foul play found in the dead prosecutor’s mobile phone, Karl Muscat. This is impossible. The autopsy report shows that Karl Muscat died of a cocaine overdose and the amounts that he consumed were considerable. Karl Muscat’s mobile phone would undoubtedly have the contact of the persons from whom Karl Muscat procured his product. The police didn’t conduct their investigations well and this is well known in legal and judicial circles.

The inquiry on Karl Muscat’s death should be reopened and a serious police investigation should be made over his death. If the police don’t even investigate the death of one of their own colleagues in the fight against crime, they are surely not going to make an effort investigating someone else’s death.

Is Karl Muscat’s death a convenient death? Are we back to Mintoff’s time when inconvenient witnesses fell to their death?

  2. Keith Cutajar was appointed as โ€˜Digital Forensic Expertโ€™ by Maltaโ€™s Information and Data Protection Appeals Tribunal in โ€˜Christian Ellul and Karl Schranz v. Malta Financial Services Authorityโ€™ and provided the Tribunal with egregiously incompetent analysis of basic HTML data.
