A small coincidence led me to learn that Sergio Ebejer, a millionaire taxman, is currently under investigation by the police over an FIAU report that posed some questions about his undeclared and unknown wealth. Sergio Ebejer even gave a lecture to the FIAU while he was being investigated by the police.
Sergio Ebejer’s close friend and previous taxman Marvin Gaerty is also under investigation by the police and his case is related to his friend Sergio Ebejer. The reason for this investigation is that some businessmen actually reported Marvin Gaerty and Sergio Ebejer of extortion over unpaid tax bills. Some businessmen have paid Gaerty and Ebejer significant sums of money to allegedly, have beneficial decisions taken in their favour over their tax issues. As taxman, Marvin Gaerty flew to Las Vegas with drug dealer Christian Borg who today still has pending problems and issues with the Inland Revenue Department and the VAT Department.
