The rise of antisemitism after October 7th (in figures)

According to a report published by the Israeli Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, antisemitic attacks and incidents against Jews worldwide have more than doubled ever since Hamas started a war against Israel on October 7th.

The report also recorded a 1200% increase in violent antisemitic posts against Jews on social media platforms with 79% of these violent posts being in Arabic. In the UK alone, antisemitic attacks increased by 1000% since October 7th, and in the US they increased by 338%. In the US there was also an increase of 540% in bomb threats against synagogues and Jewish-owned buildings. Campuses in the US saw a 700% rise in antisemitic attacks, while 20% of US citizens under 30 think that the Holocaust never happened, while another 33% are boycotting Israel. Six Jews were murdered in total in 2023 in antisemitic attacks, in the US, Egypt, and Tunisia.

The left in Europe and the US has revived antisemitism following the October 7th attacks while London seems to have become a European epicenter for antisemitism.

    I have only one problem with this assessment; how much of this is NOT antisemitic but specifically anti-Netanyahu/anti-IDF? IDF and the Jewish people are not one and the same, and neither is Netanyahu. It’s like saying Hitler and Germany were one and the same, discounting the thousands of German Jews Hitler exterminated himself.

    Also, let’s not mix narratives. Yes, what Hamas did was terrible. But what IDF did and is doing to the Palestinians is terrible.

    Israel and the IDF are not the same thing as the Nazis and the Germans were not the same thing.

    It’s not a football match. Two entities can be equally wrong in their actions.

    If there are bonafide antisemitic attacks then that is unreservedly wrong and is nothing short of pure ignorance.

    I find no qualms however in mass demonstrations condemning Zionism and the far-right MO of the State of Israel.

    Meanwhile, in the mundane world of mere statistics, a mere thirty thousand souls and counting (and hundreds of thousands of grieving relatives) have casually strolled into the abyss of obscurity and oblivion. But hey, who needs perspective when we have Facebook posts to mourn about?

    Because nothing says effective behavior management like giving someone a free pass to wreak havoc without any reaction or opposition. I mean, who needs accountability and consequences when we can just sprinkle a little more unconditional support, right?

    Quoting such statistics from an Israeli source is like published ‘scientific’ data re Malta’s next election based on what it-Torca or in-Nazzjon state. I though you were better read.
