Daniel Attard, the Labour Party candidate for the European Parliament, is continuing his offensive against government critics making his election campaign mostly about that: defending Labour, defending criminals, and attacking critics and journalists. Now, he filed a police report against an individual who usually comments on social media about politics. Daniel Attard is accusing Godfrey Leone Ganado of hate speech for telling Joseph Muscat “I hope you’ll choke and get buried in your piles of ill-gotten cash” or something of that sort. A very fitting and deserved comment which I would like to appropriate from the gentleman in question with apologies to Mr Leone Ganado.
Daniel Attard posted a Facebook photo of him exiting the Police HQ after filing a police report, making sure his supporters know of his overzealous and ingratiating behaviour towards Joseph Muscat and the Labour Party. Julia Farrugia Portelli liked Daniel Attard’s post because she is also currently conducting a legal campaign where she is criminalising memes and online speech. Can’t get more populist and authoritarian than that – and they are even proud of it.
It is quite ironic that the Labour Party has turned from a party that legislated progressive reforms on free speech into a party that is ramping up censorship and criminalising speech at an authoritarian pace. The biggest irony is that Labour youths have replaced their predecessors’ legacy of fighting against censorship, with a legacy of authoritarianism, censorship, and nepotism.
Daniel Attard is the new young Labour Party archetype: with the Labour Party void of any moral principles, he can only focus on defending his Party and fighting to further increase its authority even at the expense of our rights. They have lost all sense of political ideology and are turning the country into Robert Abela’s fiefdom, where tribute to him will get you rewarded and the state functions at the service of the Labour Party.ย And they are basically dividing us into those who love their country and those who love Dear Leader, Robert Abela. That’s a very easy choice to make and Robert Abela doesn’t have a majority, so now they will try to survive by turning the country into a criminal dictatorship.
How about this for “hate speech”? Expressing our hatred for Robert Abela, his supporters and everything the Labour Party stands for today is a patriotic act. We’re in a very toxic relationship with our Prime Minister and our government – like a woman with a man who beats her and forces her to love her. They can’t even accept the fact that we hate them and we don’t want to be their friends. They are self-conscious of their stupidity, their ignorance and that they are wrecking the country, but feel compelled to defend their position out of insecurity and fear of seeing the country rejecting them as it should. Censorship all the way.
These rats will be rejected out of the sewers of history sooner than enough. I have a lot of faith in my country which I love dearly and it will be a much better place when these imbecile and spiteful assholes lose power and end up registering for jobs at Jobs+.
