French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a €3 billion military aid package to Ukraine in a press conference with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. Macron also described the package as part of a deal with Ukraine to help it integrate its defense infrastructure with that of NATO and pave the way for its NATO membership.
France’s new military package to Ukraine pairs with Macron’s change of heart on Russia and Ukraine and his increased willingness to provide military support. Ukraine just lost the city of Avdiivka, due to ammunition shortages.
