The Labour Party stands for nothing other than crime and corruption

Every once in a while, Labour Party candidates will invoke Dom Mintoff, socialism, and whatnot to remind their supporters of the Labour Party’s history when it actually stood for something. It’s the best they can do as Robert Abela consolidates the Labour Party as a criminal organisation, barren of ideals and principles other than self-preservation and criminal impunity. This historical nostalgia in Labour’s political discourse is a sad yet farcical theatre that ultimately means nothing at all. ADPD leader Sandra Gauci once described this invocation of nostalgia by saying that the “Labour Party reminds its followers of its past because the present is too embarrassing”. Here’s a list of what Labour tries to project itself as, but actually is.

Socialist

The government pretends to have socialist values because it is subsidising the economy, jobs, electricity bills and once in a while subsidence cheques are sent out.

The reality is that half of the workforce works in the precarious and low-wage economy, with a government deficit and debt that is growing out of control as the government tries to prop up what is a relatively very unproductive economy. It has also never been more relatively expensive to buy a home.

Capitalist and pro-business

The Labour Party tries to project itself as capitalist and pro-business, and it also makes an effort to depict itself as striving to make the economy grow.

The Labour Party is funded by a small number of construction and tourism industry magnates and these magnates have carte blanche on economic policy. The economy depends on foreign companies and foreign capital that use Malta as their base due to low wages and advantageous tax conditions, then there is a local rent-seeking circuit that always having more control over the local economy due to corruption and favouritism simultaneously crushing innovation, free market enterprise and small businesses that strive to do things in the honest manner.

Environmentalist

The Labour government is spending hundreds of millions in public contracts through an entity called Project Green, that supposedly will make Malta greener. The head of this entity is the previous corrupt bureaucrat and Joseph Muscat’s associate, Joseph Cuschieri.

In reality, the environmental and green footprint is decreasing at a fast rate with an out-of-control and Jungles Rules planning policy.

 Law-abiding

Robert Abela wants to project himself and the Labour Party as a voice of reason, and as an expert in law whilst striving to act correctly and in the national interest.

The Labour Party is a literal criminal organisation where its politicians use the law to cover up for themselves and their associates; a case in point is the proposed anti-money laundering bill. Their legal expertise in anything other than criminal activity and financial crime is dubious at best.

Democratic and inclusive

Robert Abela has a team of Labour Party youths that back him up and are used by the Labour Party to project itself as the future of tomorrow, democratic and inclusive. The Labour Party pretends it does politics by playing by the rules and following the law.

The reality is that the Labour Party has turned into a cult of criminals. The youths in the Party are not active unless to support Dear Leader, a support that he literally bought with public jobs and contracts. The Labour Party controls the Public Broadcaster and other media outlets such as MaltaToday, as it constantly strives to depict a different image of reality. The Party is anything but democratic as anyone who has had a public and critical opinion of Robert Abela was pushed out. It also uses the power of incumbency to buy out votes and put pressure on its critics.

Feminist

The Labout Party has various young female politicians that it uses to project itself as a feminist party.

The Labour Party has amended abortion legislation making it even worse than previously by consolidating criminal law against women who have abortions in Malta.

Pro-peace and pro-security

Robert Abela wants to depict himself as someone who loves peace and security.

We have a dysfunctional police force that is ineffective against organised criminals, while our security services are busy spying on Robert Abela’s critics instead of actually doing their job and mitigating current geopolitical security risks. Organised criminals have never had it better.

A political party

The Labour Party presents itself as a legitimate political party with legitimate political ideas. The reality is that the Labour Party’s top concern is to cover up for its associates, to pig-out with corruption and public contracts, and establish an effective one-party state. Robert Abela is also more concerned about covering up his past and current money-laundering practices than anything else.
