France is the biggest European military donor to Ukraine: Macron publishes list and calls the Germans “cowards”

Yesterday in Prague, French President Emmanuel Macron called for a European strategic awakening and inferred to the Germans as “cowards” for taking an appeasement stance with regard to Russia. Simultaneously, the French Ministry of Defense published its total list of weapons donated to Ukraine, which has been estimated to be valued in total around €2.615 billion.

France’s figure exceeds the figures of all other European countries bar the UK which claims that it has donated to Ukraine, so far, a total of up to £2.3 billion in direct military aid, however, France also donated an additional €3.8 billion to the European Peace Facility which is also being used in aid of Ukraine. It should be noted that for this year, Russia is spending a total of up to €130 billion in its defense budget.

At the same time, Czech President Petr Pavel, supported Macron’s remarks on considering all options available to help Ukraine and said that boots on the ground should not be excluded. The Czech Republic will also be donating a supply of artillery shells to Ukraine.
