Robert Abela is isolating all the Labour MPs who disagree with Joseph Muscat and Rosianne Cutajar’s return to Labour

Yesterday, the Nationalist Party’s media arm, published a story about Robert Abela planning to fire the Labour Party’s CEO Randolph Debattista. I confirm that the story is true and Randolph Debattista is not an exception because all the Labour MPs who expressed themselves against reintegrating Rosianne Cutajar in the Labour parliamentary group have been marked for purging.

Robert Abela has made his decision to accept Joseph Muscat back in the Labour Party’s ranks, along with all his old allies and associates. Basically, Robert Abela wants to bring back into the fold all the Labour Party members who were excluded or fired for corruption and other improper conduct because there are many of them, so it helps the numbers at the election. On the other hand, Joseph Muscat is clearly able to get many Labourites out to vote, hence saving Robert Abela the risk of being humiliated.

There are, of course, no discussions within Labour about these issues and plans, and Robert Abela has no concern at all about principles and the Labour Party’s future. These are all decisions that Robert Abela is making by himself after discussing numbers with his close associates like Alexander Balzan and his father, George Abela. At the same time, Robert Abela doesn’t have the power and the confidence to say “no” to Joseph Muscat, so at least, the fact that Muscat will help him with the numbers gives Robert a good enough excuse to reintegrate him.

Given this decision, Robert Abela has decided that the Party should not be divided between the pro-Muscats and the anti-Muscats, so he plans to fire and exclude everyone who doesn’t agree with his plans and intentions of reintegrating Joseph Muscat. Robert Abela wants the situation in the Party to be very clear and expects everyone to do accordingly.

By hindsight, through Robert Abela, Joseph Muscat did not only achieve impunity, but he is also getting the Labour Party back while leveraging its support for him as he fights a very likely criminal arraignment that is backed with very damning evidence.

    What hold has Rosie on them all because it wasn’t even that she was a good politician that they want to bring her back? Surely being excellent at pigging out doesn’t count as her scoffing like mad leaves the trough less full for others to eat. I can imagine something else she could be good at bur again surely she can’t do that to them all?

      Sure she carries kneepads. More relevant though – why so many weak-minded men in parliament?
