Silvio Schembri would rather not bring up any pseudo-nostalgic memories of his youthful days given that he doesn’t have a lot to show for. From having his friends buying him drinks on Saturday night, to owning several properties, companies, and other assets, I’ve seen Silvio Schembri grow irregularly rich in a decade of being a government minister.
Now, he wants to tell us of his arduous political struggle in his youth, where he was forged as a Labourite in the streets of the class struggle. He was arrested for organising a protest against the government by the fascist police and suffered great hardship in the prisons among other many political prisoners.
I remember very well the time when Silvio Schembri was arrested. He was arrested for being drunk in public, making threats to his political opponents, and even waving a baseball bat at them.
