The Labour Party is turning into a pro-Russian fifth column in Europe: just like Hungary

It is no coincidence that the most corrupt countries in Europe, namely Hungary, and Malta have adopted a pro-Russian position in Europe and the European Union, with Hungary leading the pack of Europe’s fifth column. Criminal organisations that run governments will easily prefer to ally themselves with other criminal organisations in power and dictators because living in such a sphere of influence provides greater impunity for criminal behaviour than living and working in the sphere of Western rule of law. Nation states that are run by honest and hard-working citizens will turn to the West for economic growth and expansion, but those who want to kill, steal and remain in power non-democratically, would prefer to be friends with the Kremlin or the likes of Iran instead of having US diplomats breathing down your neck reminding you of your human rights obligations.

The inclination for the Labour Party to find common elements with Russia and Vladimir Putin is by now, a very logical conclusion that is taking place in real time. You can read this article about Viktor Orban’s position in Ukraine as positively echoed by Russia’s state media: it is exactly the same position and discourse used by Robert Abela and the Labour Party, and the same rhetoric. Their talk about peace is not a genuine desire for peace and justice, they simply want to end the war by handing Russia a victory over Europe. Viktor Orban and Robert Abela are not concerned about the serious implications a Russian victory in Europe would have on our democracies at home, on the contrary. Viktor Orban and Robert Abela would genuinely and warmly welcome a further erosion of democracy and an increase in their executive and authoritarian power.

Recently, Germany’s Foreign Affairs Minister Annalena Baerbock declared that Russia was coordinating a disinformation campaign against Western leaders in favour of Ukraine. Baerbock explained that Russia tries to smear these female European leaders in various ways including by shaming them on their looks, past, gender and sexuality. This is the same kind of campaign the Russians did to smear Sanna Marin as she was shamed for dancing with her friends during the same time Finland joined NATO. So, of course, now that the Labour Party is conducting a smear campaign against Roberta Metsola, it is important to see if the Labour Party’s campaign correlates and coincides with Russian disinformation.

A quick search on X.com would also yield, some results of Russian bots and propagandists attacking Roberta Metsola, and coincidentally, the arguments and the wording they use are also the same as those used by the Labour Party against her. Just like the Labour Party, the Russian bots and trolls are saying of Roberta Metsola that she is a warmonger against Russia, she is killing babies in the Middle East, and she is pushing Europe into war. These are all Russian talking points that have been adopted by the Labour Party.

First and foremost before everything else, Roberta Metsola is a Maltese citizen, and this means that our security services have the responsibility to ensure her safety and well-being. She is a Maltese VIP, probably the most important Maltese of today, and a great national asset, so the security services have plenty of reasons to make sure that Roberta Metsola is safe, including from Russian disinformation campaigns. Unfortunately, under a Labour government, we can never be sure that our security services are doing their job instead of betraying us just like they did with Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Robert Abela has abused foreign policy and national security for cheap political points, and the consequences of this abuse are an outright skewed narrative and foreign policy that is built opportunistically and even criminally. This situation leaves us incredibly vulnerable. We can not function like a normal state if our Prime Minister is not working for the national interest, but rather skewing the national interest into a dangerous political and electoral game. We are becoming ever divided in our country between a Labour Party that is becoming ever more criminal and outlandish and ever more dependent on the rent-seeking regime to survive, while the rest of us keep trying to figure out how, what is left of our country, and what has not been taken by Labour, should work. I don’t think this situation is politically sustainable because the Labour Party is currently banking on people’s poverty, illiteracy and outright ignorance, but things won;t remain like this for ever.
