I would like to write a very extended article on how and why the current European left is a total disgrace, but I have other important commitments to catch up with tomorrow morning, following some sleepless and very busy nights.
This is the President of the S&D, Iratxe García Pérez. To be exact, she is the President of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament. That’s a very big name for a President of a political party that publicly endorses a team of organised criminals, including the fellow S&D MEP, Alex Agius Saliba who is rehabilitating Joseph Muscat into politics.
I don’t need to tell Iratxe García Pérez who Joseph Muscat is and how Alex Agius Saliba is helping him make his political comeback: she knows very well, only she doesn’t care.
In reality, Iratxe García Pérez can’t take a strong position on the rule of law either. Her previous boss and master, Spanish President Pedro Sanchez is taking down the rule of law in Spain by changing criminal and terrorism laws so as to make a political alliance with Catalonian separatists who were funded and sponsored by Russia. Sanchez is doing this alliance and breaking the rule of law simply to keep the government. Spain is currently one of the worst economies in Europe and its economic metrics are currently, even worse than Greece. And it is no hyperbole to say, that Sanchez has degraded Spain’s politics, democracy, and rule of law to such an extent, that he is literally trying to form a government by negotiating with the criminal lawyers of convicted terrorists who wanted to break the state in two.
Now, that Iratxe García Pérez has already given her endorsement to Alex Agius Saliba, it would sound strange of her to take it back. But perhaps, this is how she ended up where she is today. The S&D today is void of strong principles, and it is serving more of a liability to Europe than an asset, by behaving like the stupid and lazy child in class who doesn’t want to see his more intelligent friends getting ahead of him. They don’t want to arm Ukraine properly, and they don’t want to rejuvenate the European economy, but they are happy to sign more regulatory laws, more taxes, more gender quotas, and more windmills. They cover up for each other like a religious cult instead of taking up proper and critical positions, and they can’t seem to be consistent with many matters, given that some of their prominent members, as explained already, are doing things that are not very agreeable.
Europe, right now needs a hard Reaginite and Tatcherite revival to position our continent as the best in the world in economy and defense. The European left can contend with the village idiots like Alex Agius Saliba and corrupt murderers like Joseph Muscat, while the rest of us can do and talk of the things that matter.
