Magistrate Joe Mifsud was recently spotted at the La Valette Club business lounge of the Malta International Airport. I did not ask my sources where he was heading to, but those who saw him at the lounge were shocked to overhear him speaking loudly with unidentified strangers on ongoing court cases and inquiries.
Where is he going anyway? To Rome? Recently, he has had his court-room taken away from him and his role is now exclusively that of conducting magisterial inquiries. Now, he is set to conduct a magisterial inquiry on items and evidence being lost from the Court’s evidence room.
I hardly think he will be less damaging in his new role.
