I don’t think there has ever been in the history of the Labour Party a Labour youth that is so narcisstic, entintled, and idiotic. The reason for this is also very simple. The Labour youths of today have very little to no actual political experience. They have been active in politics only through the rent-seeking regime, unlike us who spent our youth fighting successive Nationalist Party administrations from the Opposition. We also had to fend for ourselves and create our wealth and resources during a time when the economy was very precarious and we recieved no government help – at least, I did.
The track-record of the Labour Youth of today is mainly composed of self-serving action mostly done amorally and without any political direction. They have also grown to mimic their corrupt superiors with grandstanding and bombastic statements that absolutely make no sense. Just like Marija Sara Vella Gafa who is contesting for the European Parliament elections and wants Malta to become “the best in Europe in mental health”.
What does that mean, really? And how can you be the best in Europe in mental health if the current government is turning Malta into a very stressful and expensive shithole. Maybe, this is a genius way in how to keep Labour in government in perpetuity: creating problems and then solving them so as to pretend that you are doing a good job in government. That’s not the way to govern the country.
Rising traffic, a planning and construction industry run by Jungle Rules, rampant corruption, precarious jobs, debt, dirt, litter, constant noise pollution, crime, impunity, and all of this under a blistering heat that causes electricity and water disruptions in Summer. I’d say that the Labour government makes an excellent business for psychotherapists and antidepressants. This is the best of times indeed for those who work in the mental health sector. Best in Europe for sure: but for the mental health industry.
Improving mental health facilities should be an important prioity, but the biggest priority for the government should be to create a country where living conditions are good and healthy and that’s how you address the root of mental health. It sounds ridiculous that the Labour Party would focus so much on mental health with bombastic statements while wrecking our country and making it unlivable.
