There is a very wide gap between what socialists in the Labour Party say and what they do. One f these socialist frauds is Evarist Bartolo who today spends his free time traveling to Turkey and advocating for the Turkish government.
In a recent post, Evarist Bartolo extolled the virtues of the socialist writer ?u?e Ellul Mercer, who was buried in the “rubbish dump” during the Church’s conflict with the Malta Labour Party in the 1960s. Bartolo spent his life extolling the virtues of the historic Labour Party intellectuals and fancied himself as one of them. Eventually, he was embroiled in a corruption scandal which was resolved only thanks to the fact that the court case ended up in front of the corrupt Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech.
Today, he is still at it, pretending that he likes socialist writers. Yet, there is a massive gap between Evarist Bartolo’s posturing and his actions in real life.
In 2019, Evarist Bartolo refused to present a law in Parliament that would have turned the National Book Council as an autonomous and independent entity. This was his own discretional decision because the law had the backing of back then Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. This was not the first time Evarist Bartolo refused to legislate in favor of the Council’s independence and there were other occasions before that. Today, the National Book Council is run by incompetent political appointees and the entity discriminates against a number of authors and publishers like myself who are unfriendly to the Labour Party and the government.
Yet, this corrupt fraud has the temerity to write about ?u?e Ellul Mercer. Certainly, he bears no shred of accountability for the ruins at the Book Council, as these impostors deceive themselves into believing they are indispensable paragons of society.
