Byron Camilleri, the Minister for Home Affairs who launched the new “Skills Card scheme”, through which third-country foreign nationals will be further required to pay money to obtain low-paying jobs in Malta, doesn’t seem to grasp the irony of his own initiative. Similarly, the other Minister who announced it, Clayton Bartolo, is in the same boat with Byron Camilleri on this issue.
Byron Camilleri is one of the least experienced and least skilled cabinet ministers having never held any real jobs throughout his life, ever. His only working experience prior to being appointed Minister for Home Affairs is that of Fgura Mayor. His previous permanent secretary, Emanuel Psail had to resign as he was constantly in disputes with him until he finally compared his abilities and mentality to that of a child.
