The Netherlands to provide €400 million in energy infrastructure to Ukraine on top of additional military aid

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte was in Kyiv yesterday discussing military and civil aid to Ukraine. The Netherlands will be providing Ukraine with €400 million worth of energy infrastructure aid following an attack on Ukraine’s largest energy plant in Kyiv. The Trypilska Thermal Power Plant was completely destroyed leaving its energy company without any electricity generating capability, although no power-cuts were caused as a result.

The Netherlands will be providing a further €1 billion in military aid to Ukraine following another €2 billion that have already been pledged for this year alone. The Netherlands was also the first country to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets.
