Moldovan President Maia Sandu tells OSCE Chair Ian Borg that Ukraine may fall soon without military aid and that Moldova would be next

Yesterday, Malta’s Foreign Affairs Minister and current OSCE Chairman Ian Borg met with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, in Chi?in?u, where they discussed issues concerning Transnistria, Moldova’s EU membership, and the war in Ukraine.

Moldova’s President told the OSCE Chairman that Ukraine’s front lines risk collapse if military aid is not swiftly provided to Ukraine. Russia would also follow with targeting Moldovan following its potential success in Ukraine adding to its conquests further following a series of conquests in Georgia and Ukraine. The President added that if Ukraine were to fall, Russia would then target Moldova through its breakaway region in the East, Transnistria.

President Sandu is also seeking a peaceful solution with Transnistria to facilitate a successful bid to join the European Union. An internal military conflict in the country would disqualify it from joining the EU, and Russia would increase its efforts to fuel this conflict to thwart Moldova’s bid.
