The auditor Christopher Spiteri knew that Steward was submitting false information to the Malta Business Registry, wrote this in their documentation, signed their accounts anyway, and kept being paid them as if nothing has happened.

Technically he didn’t.
Not disputing the alleged complicity in the vitals case , however the screenshot you posted refers to the obligations when auditing accounts.
It is the standard text on every audited financial statement, and at the bottom you declare if there is anything to report in that regard, to which he stated that he has nothing to report.
Whether he really knew or not is something separate, but it is not what happened here.
It is agreed that auditors make And sign such SIMILAR BUT NOT STANDARD REPORTS.
ONCE the auditor states that financisal statements are not consonat with accounts, the least he could do, is report. If not on the certificste at least on a separate report.
That certificate raises more questions and doubts than it satisfied an audit certificate
A responsible Company CEO receiving such a report would have plunged into an investigation of the Company accounts sn procedures..
The auditor himself should have rendered his refusal of accepting the appointment. It takes no professional to know that playing with fire burns fingers in plain language
