Social Policy Minister Michael Falzon hasn’t yet given up on his fraudulent practices at the Ministry of Social Policy despite having had his extensive fraudulent social-benefits scheme shut down by the police. The doctor who executed the scheme has been indicted on criminal charges, while Michael Falzon, unscathed from the whole affair, can continue defrauding the state.
The latest fraud by the Social Policy Ministry is the distribution of Blue Badges: these allow you privileged parking rights. Earlier this week a Labour Party member had a call from the a Labour Party call centre that was calling members and asking them if they needed anything. This is routine operation for the Labour Party before elections. A particular caller complained about having difficulties to park, upon which they were told they could be provided with a “Blue Badge” to solve the problem.
Later on during the week, I also received a tip that the mother of a Luqa Labour Party local council candidate, Matthew Spiteri, received a blue badge and a reserved parking right in front of her house despite the fact that she has a garage at street level. Matthew Spiteri is a canvasser for Roderick Galdes and also for Luqa mayor’s John Schembri (Silvio Schembri’s father). He was also mentioned in the Australian press over a custody battle with his Australian wife over his children.
I wonder how many Blue Badges have been handed out during this month compared to the other months of the year? Maybe, it could make for a good PQ.
