“Persecution” in Malta goes hard on professional money launderers, as described by the Magisterial Inquiry, allowing them to dine and enjoy Indian food at their leisure. It doesn’t seem very medieval, more like they’re being protected by a corrupt Police Commissioner who refuses to arrest and investigate those committing crimes alongside the Labour Party.
This is the auditor of Vitals and Steward Malta, Christopher Spiteri who said he was being “persecuted”.
Directly from the Magisterial Inquiry:
“The appointment of Christopher Spiteri as auditor was key to advancing a smooth takeover of the concession. As set out in appendix 1010 his appointment in early 2018 was nefarious which, in summary, resulted in Mr Spiteri accepting an offer of a bonus of ย50,000 for the successful completion of an audit of the VGH group. In other words, Mr Spiteriยs silence had been bought through: his commitment to resolve any financial issues found during the audit without implication for either VGH or Steward. We consider that it was in the context of this highly abnormal relationship between the smal lcocal auditor and his now global client that the misappropriation of a significant part of the funds received from the Government Of Malta went undetected and unreported.”
