7th June is a Maltese national holiday that celebrates the national protests that took place in Valletta on the 7th June 1919 when 4 Maltese men were shot by British soldiers. It is an important national day that reminds us of the historical struggles Malta and the Maltese went through to achieve our democratic State of today.
There was no word about this national holiday today either by the Prime Minister nor the Labour Government. No word about it by the government either.
Opposition Leader Bernard Grech commemorated the event by visiting the national monument in dedication of the event at Saint George’s Square.
Also, no word or mention about D-Day events this week in France.
