Watch this very interesting interview with professor Clare Vassallo over her translation of Dar Camilleri’s latest publication “The Anthology of Mischievous Maltese Literature”. The anthology, originally published in Maltese, includes the most controversial Maltese literary texts that have been published during the last 40 years. This interview is particularly interesting because Clare Vassallo discusses her translations in the context of Malta’s bilingual literary scene. Clare Vassallo is considered one of Malta’s foremost and most prolific literary translators.

    what an intelligent, absorbing discussion! I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. Listening to two people who have done so much for Maltese literature, looking at translation and its Maltese context, and the way the concept of ‘island’ has disappeared through translation and the new media. Thank you both very much for this.
