What now for Supreme Leader?

After letting Joseph Muscat ride him and the Labour Party throughout the European Parliament election campaign, now Robert Abela is in a catastrophic situation of his own making where Joseph Muscat is more popular than he is in the Party, and the Labourites who are against Joseph Muscat, also hate him for isolating them while pulling the Party into its current criminal lows.

It’s a tough gig trying to convince the electorate of your track-record in protecting lieral corrupt politicians. What was he thinking all along?

There is no hope for Robert Abela with a unified and centrist opposition lead by the like of a popular name like Roberta Metsola. Now, it’s simply a waiting game for him until he is elected out of office. The upcoming deputy-leadership race of the Party is going to be irrelevant to the future political set-up of the country. It’s all downhill from now.

What now? Summer starts, people fork out thousands to go on holidays, spend time at the beach swimming in filthy waters, spend a week or two in Gozo getting stressed at the lack of parking, keep taking in the profits of buying a tiny apartment and renting it out to foreigners working in IT but constantly having to maintain and worry about it (and annoying others with their “i’ve got a huge problem in the flat I rent” rants). Driving expensive cars yet stuck in traffic. Constantly ordering food and getting it delivered and then complaining about foreigners taking over the roads and Island. And so on. That’s the facade of a failing society. Dysfunctional. And then you have a minority who observe. Those who have severed ties with institutions that indoctrinate and have long understood that the simple things in life like reading a book, cooking simple yet nutritious meals, commuting on foot, looking after their mind, soul and body is what being a human is all about.
