I don’t need politics in my life – Joe Giglio

One part of the exchange between Adrian Delia, Joe Giglio, and Eve Borg Bonnello that I didn’t publish yesterday included Joe Giglio saying, “I don’t need politics in my life.”

Apparently, the Nationalist Party needs Joe Giglio more than he needs it, but I wonder why. How many votes did Joe Giglio get for the PN? If the PN is happy with the potential band of criminals Joe Giglio can bring to the party, given those are the only people he can ever convince to vote for the PN, I’d say that’s a poor bargain. Last time I checked, no one wants money-laundering bankers or suspected murderers within their political ranks.

They are really a funny bunch these criminal lawyers, aren’t they? They think we are still in the 1930s when court deliberations are in Italian and no one could understand their pseudo-intellectual drivel in broken Italian-Maltese-English. I also wonder why he got into politics in the first place, given that he actually did push the interests of his clients as a politician when he lambasted whistleblower Maria Efimova in Parliament in defense of his previous client Ali Sadr Hasheminejad.

I don’t need politics in my life, just that extra salary that I get while I defend my clients in order to pay for my diesel of my yacht.

The presence of criminal lawyers in parliament is concerning. You can?t have criminal lawyers in parliament. A major conflict of interest. This issue existed during the PN?s time in power, persists today, and will likely continue in the future.
