President of the Labour Party Ramona Attard is next for the chop after the resignation of the Deputy-Leader Daniel Micallef as the whole Labour Party Executive Committee is set to be replaced. I’m not certain how Robert Abela is going to go about this purge because he would need the President to organise the Extroardinary General Conference to elect two new deputy-leaders first – which would have to happen if there is more than one nomination for a post.
Since the catastrophic loss at the European Parliament elections, Robert Abela has made no speech or policy announcement that shows any change in Labour’s direction. So far, it has only been more clientalism and more Jungle Rules. Robert Abela is delivering all the blame of the election result unto the Executive Committee absolving his inner circle that includes Glenn Micallef and Aleander Balzan who individually, have definitely much more power than Daniel Micallef and Ramona Attard combined.
