This is Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa. He assumed he could take up the post of Police Commissioner in exchange for protecting Joseph Muscat and other Labour Party criminals. He also assumed that by following through this deal, he could buy a villa in Marsaxlokk, pay it off and retire in peace.
Today, the Police admitted in Court that they didn’t even read the Vitals Magisterial Inquiry before prosecuting the suspects.
Most probably Angelo Gafa won’t be enjoying his villa after Robert Abela is out of office. Instead, he’ll have to attend daily hearings of the Public Committee that will investigate him for abetting money-laundering and facilitating organised criminal groups. He may very well end up his life in prison for his crimes and may probably have to sell his villa to avoid default and post bail.
Attorney-General Victoria Buttigieg and Police Commissioner Angelo Gafa will burn down like papers planes as soon as Robert Abela leaves office and their political protection is abrogated.
