Simona Refalo, daughter of Gozitan Minister Anton Refalo, has had a baptism by fire in politics through rent-seeking, and now, even fraud and corruption. She couldn’t have started her political career in a worse way, getting elected as Xewkija mayor through her father’s political influence, fraud and corruption (his canvassers and family members changed their addresses to Xewkija to help her out). Simona Refalo doesn’t even live in Xewkija.
In my previous article about her I explained that her election was a gross and obscene violation of everything that the Labour Party stands for in terms of meritocracy for the under-class. Now, Simona Refalo will be committing her first ever corrupt act by faking herself as a full-time mayor whilst she is doing a full-time course at the University of Malta.
I’m surprised that no Gozitan Labour Party delegates are expressing themselves at this obscene situation. I am not familiar with the Party there since Gozitan ministers always had an overbearing influence in Gozo due to rent-seeking and corruption, even being more powerful than the Party itself in Gozo. Clearly, the Labour Party in Gozo has turned politics there into a corrupt scene of dynastic power, rent-seeking, clientalism and corruption.
Simona Refalo won’t be a full-time Mayor. She will be spending most of the days of her week in Msida studying whatever (probably law as they all do, since they want to imitate the Nationalists in everything, even in their corruption and dynastic politics).
