What words can be used to describe the Police Commissioner who has a long history of abetting and covering up organised crime? Given that Angelo’s Gafa’s behaviour as Police Commissioner tallies with that a corrupt criminal, I assume that the description is very legitimate.
On point of principle, the Malta Police Union can stick any illegitimate criticism and shove it down its illegitimate and highly irregular existence. How about this for legitimate criticism? The existence of a police union is an aberration to even the most hardcore of socialists given that sensitive and strategic State structures should not be allowed to strike or refuse to fulfill their duties. In any case, the Malta Police Union has been a gross failure, given the extremely low wages that the police still operate with.
If I had to give them the benefit of the doubt, I’d say that they are not referring to my stories on Angelo Gafa, because supposedly, a union would not come out in defense of its employer as it is not in its interest to do so. They may have good intentions, albeit misguided, although anything goes right now given the surreal and weird state of the nation.
