The Minister for Education still hasn’t met the Malta Union of Teachers after the elections

First, the Ministry of Education and the Malta Union of Teachers enticed everyone to sign an agreement as quickly as possible. Then, after the elections were behind us, Minister of Education Clifton Grima didn’t even bother to reply to the Malta Union of Teachers’ request to meet again to continue the negotiations.

Who would have thought that Labour did things just to win votes, rather than because it was the right thing to do? If the Union was smart, it would take the opportunity to rally its forces and go back to the negotiating table with a stronger hand, especially after a catastrophic result for Labour at the polls.
