The Malta Union of Teachers resumes talks with the Ministry of Education

The Malta Union of Teachers has just issued a statement saying it has resumed talks with the Ministry of Education over its proposed salaries agreement to educational staff. The MUT is set to address points raised by its members, namely discrepancies in the increase allocations to senior teachers and young recruits, and points raised by Learning Support Assistants.

Members are arguing that, in contrast to the agreements signed in 2017 and 2022, this is the first time they have had a significant say and discussion on the proposed agreement before signing it.
