The Nationalist Party should try to get a little bit serious on policy now that things are getting real

I keep being amazed at how the Nationalist Party leader, Bernard Grech, continues to be his own worst enemy in a political setting that is extremely favorable to his party. It’s as if the game is rigged in his favour on easy mode, yet he still keeps missing his targets.

Bernard Grech thinks that he is going to win the general election by pushing reductive and propagandist ic statements that supposedly should entice voters with enthusiasm with the new prospective Nationalist government. Lately, he said that if the government didn’t fund corruption, it would be able to fund energy subsidies.

That’s around ย€2 billion in three years if I can recall correctly, which is quite off the ย€30 million Joseph Muscat is being accused of stealing from the Vitals contract.

My point is that this is no longer the time for stupid and grandiose statements. The Nationalist Party should start getting a bit serious because things are getting real for it, yet it doesn’t seem to be getting it. If people really understand the state of the Nationalist Party right now, and the potential candidates who would be composing the alternative government, they may get spooked out and vote Labour Party just for the sake of keeping the Devil they know. The level of craziness that PN can bring may not be to Labour’s criminal level, but it may be equally if not more stupid that Miriam Dalli’s performance.

There’s some serious homework that PN needs to do on finance, housing, the economy, cost of living, energy, the environment, infrastructure, demographics and a lot of other things. This is not the time for ideas, either. PN has to come out with a proper and detailed plan for government because it’s probably going to get there very soon. This is no joke.

The Nazzis were caught by surprise by the elections results just as hard as the LP. Although the Nazzis know that they will eventually win the GE by default because that is the way the system is rigged in Malta, they had settled down for a long wait. Suddenly they woke up faced with the real prospect of standing a chance to win the GE if they are held in 3 years time. However they are not only unprepared but as dysunctional as ever. Bernnie is a clown surrounded by corrupt inept and puerile imbeciles. The Nazzis have no real economic vision or plan for this republic. Will they correct the disaster they brought about in 2006 with the re-zoning of the ODZ? How are they going to reform the P.A and revise the various policies that give a free hand to developers to do what they like and get away litterally with murder? Will they enforce court decsions with regards to illegal developments e.g Ian Borg’s swimming pool and Portelli’s hotel in Mellieha? Will they amend the current tragic appeals policy that allows development to continue unabetted even when an appeal is lodged? Will they carry out the necessary much needed reforms to the BCA so that proper laws and regualtions are not only introduced but also enforced Will they ensure that true justice prevails in the ongoing criminal proceedings against JM and all those invloved in the Vitals/Steward heists and others that will surface eventually? No they will not so yes Mark I shall continue to support the devil I have always known hoping that internal pressure will bring about the necessary reforms within the MLP. The way things are evolving within the Labour camp I will not be surprised if an early snap lection is called.
