Historically, the Broadcasting Authority never employed individuals associated with political parties

The Broadcasting Authority has consistently and throughout the years applied a rule of not employing individuals associated with any political party. Various individuals from different political parties confirmed to me that in the past, they had their applications rejected by the Broadcasting Authority for their association with a political party.

The Broadcasting Authority seems to have made an exception for Adriano Spiteri who was employed as its secretary despite having been a top-party official of Norman Lowell’s fascist party, Imperium Europa.

Appointments at the Broadcasting Authority and other independent public entities are watched closely by the Office of the Prime Minister and I am very sure that someone in power was very cynical about Adriano Spiteri’s appointment. Someone in power is saying that the Labour government has tolerated his appointment because the Maltese state should, in all its benevolence, provide jobs to unemployable fascist freaks, instead of having them stuck writing their incel diaries on social media on a full-time basis.
