An extensive investigation by Italian media outlet, Fanpage.it has revealed that the youth wing of Giorgia Meloni’s party-in-government, Fratelli d’Italia has a strong fascist culture within its ranks. The investigation revealed that many of its members including members of its committee, have a strong admiration for Hitler and Mussolini. They also regularly exchange antisemitic jokes and racial slurs, apart from singing fascist songs during social activities.
Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni has condemned the investigation saying it is a smear campaign against the party’s members while also citing privacy concerns. Recently, Prime Minister Meloni complained that the far-right was left out of any top EU post nominations.
