NATO Summit concludes with a story by CNN about Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi raising concerns over President Joe Biden’s health

The NATO Summit in Washington was concluded with a story released by CNN that Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi raised concerns over President Joe Biden’s health. Questions to President Biden at the end of the summit were mostly focused on his health and his ability to lead the country.

A question raised by Zeke Miller of Associated Press was about the use of US weapons in Russian territory. President Biden replied that this issue was a matter of case by case basis, however he didn’t provide details on any guidelines.

Polls show that President Biden is headed for a defeat in November’s Presidential elections after his poor performance at his first presidential debate with his rival Donald Trump.

Nothing new came out of the NATO Summit except announcement that Ukraine was to be donated five missile defense systems and six F-16s by NATO allies.

    I listened to the whole thing and I think Joe Biden did very well. He seemed awkward while answering questions about his health but he was sharp when talking about the actual issues, whether on foreign or domestic policy.

    I think this whole line of questioning Biden’s fitness to serve is a talking point started by the Republicans but which has now taken a life of its own. Democrats have now started to doubt themselves, just as the relentless talking point about the Nationalist Party in Malta being ‘unprepared’ and ‘negative’ (started by the Labour Party) has become an incontrovertible truth which people seem to bizarrely accept to be true no matter the evidence. In such situations, the maligned party can say the most amazing and innovative things but people relentlessly stick to the talking point.

    Sure, Joe Biden has his ‘senior moments’ when he confuses names, leaves a sentence hanging or starts coughing, but that does not mean he’s brain dead. The evidence shows quite the contrary. He seems to be doing just fine. Moreover, it’s not like it will be a catastrophe if he wins and steps down after a year or two. His vice-president will take over, so the fuss seems unnecessary.

    Part of the problem is that the president is portrayed as a super-hero, so people and the media expect him to look and sound like one, but reality makes this unnecessary. The president never does anything alone. The president’s administration is made up of whole teams of people. If a president falters in some way or another due to health, there will always be back up. After all, there were presidents who died in office and America still survived.

      Totally agree with every syllable, Banquo. Joe Biden’s imperfections have been magnified. It gives the vile media another fearful and negative item to make a song and dance about. People are getting smarter and the media’s manufactured fear is bouncing back towards pseudo journalists.
      Readers want to be informed about factual events and want to read intelligent discussions supported by evidence.
      This is often the case with Mark’s blogs which present us with key bits and pieces of the larger illusive jigsaw.
