Why the Labour Party needs a tight grip on prison: to manage scandals

There are many reasons why the Labour Party and Prime Minister Robert Abela would, out of their own interest, hold tight oversight over Malta’s prison. Apart from monitoring the criminals with whom they themselves are involved, they can use their control to manage their own scandals that happen in prison.

Most recently, this kind of scandal management involvement someone from the Ministry of Home Affairs insisting with Mario Mifsud to take up Svetlana Muscat’s case in Court.

Svetlana Muscat is currently being investigated by the Police for introducing a gas-distributor to Yorgen Fenech in her office in prison.
