How is this justice?

Courts are still giving non-consequential sentences for violent attacks. Read about this sentence of a youth who violently attacked a taxi driver and wounded him badly. The youth has been allowed to practically go scot-free with a suspended sentence. This is also demoralising for the Police and the Prosecutor who would take the time to draw up the case in the first place. What’s the point if you are going to get away with it?

This should also be an issue for the legislator who should make it impossible for the Courts to deliver such oitrageous sentences.

Reading the Magistrate’s comments: how can a mental health issues be used as ‘carte blanche’ for anti-social behaviour?

As stated in a quote by Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. (and many others of the era): “The right to swing my fist ends where the other man’s nose begins.”

One get’s jail time for stealing a can or two of tuna coz he was desperate to eat, then one gets away scot free after being found guilty of 28 thefts, while this other dangerous beast, who is a real threat to society, gets a suspended sentence after seriously maiming an innocent taxi driver going about his job.

What on earth is going on, on this wretched Island of ours!!

Do not be so sorry for the prosecution being disheartened: they themselves did not object to the ?agreement? between the defence and the victim, inevitably either bullied or bribed
