Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had none other but US Ambassador to Israel Michael Herzog and a security detail to greet him at the airport in Washington as he arrived to deliver a speech in Congress.
Benjamin Netanyahu, who has a pending arrest warrant application by the International Criminal Court, has faced strong criticism by President Joe Biden and his cabinet over the war in Gaza. Despite the criticism earlier this year, Israel was still supplied with weapons by the United States, although not as of very recently.
Vice-President Kamala Harris has flown out of Washington to Delaware, Biden’s home state, before Netanyahu arrived in Washington, and she won’t be attending Congress for his speech.
