Wagner Group helping Nicolás Maduro to repress protesters and stay in power

The Wagner Group has been spotted in Caracas, Venezuela, as it was being deployed to protect checkpoints and repress protesters. The Wagner Group has been present in Venezuela since 2019 where they have served as a security group for Nicolás Maduro.

At least sixteen people have been killed so far as the police and the army try to squash ongoing demonstrations in Venezuela against President Nicolás Maduro who insists on staying on in power despite losing the election.

    It appears that the basic army, not special forces or police are not with Maduro now , but claim that they are loyal to the opposition.
    Also now, the US has declared that it recognizes the opposing party’s victory.
