Jason Azzopardi is publishing extensive evidence of the racket at Identity Malta

The story of the two Egyptians who were interrogated by the police for having obtained fraudulent ID cards has escalated into an unraveling of a major scandal at Identity Malta with Jason Azzopardi publishing extensive evidence of the racket.

Multiple foreign individuals had their ID cards fraudulently produced by Identity Malta in exchange for bribes, with their addresses being assigned to random locations, some of which were inhabited by other people who were unaware of what was happening.

So far, no officials from Identity Malta have been arraigned in court. The Nationalist Party is also calling or the resignation of the Interior Minister over the scandal.
